How did our story start?

Brač is one of the most beautiful Croatian islands. It is known for its stonemasonry and has long been home to people who have lived off agriculture and fishing since ancient times.  Brač is an island of stone; every stone has its own history.

My ancestors, known for their dedication to agriculture, cultivated olives, cherries, and grapes. My family and I decided to continue the tradition with the same enthusiasm.

My father had a vision to bring this forgotten place back to life. We renovated the entire property by hand, rebuilding the old stone houses from the ground up, tidying up the land, and planting olive and fruit trees. Something was still missing, so we brought a few friendly animals—sheep, goats, and chickens—to make our place livelier and more inviting!

Things began to fall into place. What was once a forgotten piece of land became a peaceful retreat in untouched nature—a self-sustaining property where rainwater is collected and electricity is generated from solar panels. You'll enjoy food prepared outdoors over oak wood and an open fire—simple yet unforgettable. Fresh, clean air and the peaceful rhythm of nature create an experience that is hard to forget.

House Details

One country house has two bedrooms, and the other has one bedroom. Each provides a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with natural daylight. The living rooms have a rustic wooden dining table, as well as a smart flat-screen TV with satellite channels.

 

The first house has an air-conditioned living room with automatic energy management that optimizes cooling based on available solar power for maximum comfort and efficiency.​

Fully equipped indoor kitchen with a stove, oven, fridge (with freezer compartment), and plenty of crockery and cutlery.

 

The larger of the houses has a king-size bed (170 x 200 cm) in one of the bedrooms and a bunk bed (90 x 200 cm) in the other. The bedroom in the second natural stone house has a queen-size bed (160 x 200 cm). Plenty of bed linen and towels are provided, and the reliable Wi-Fi in both houses can be used free of charge.​

​The holiday home is easily accessible by car, and there is convenient parking directly in front of the house. Although part of the route is on a short gravel road, the natural stone houses are just 1 km from the nearest beach with crystal-clear water. The center of the little harbor town of Sumartin, with its range of shops, colorful markets, and great local dining, is about 3 km away.

A year-round retreat

Beyond the hot summer season, Ranch Visoka is a year-round retreat where you can enjoy authentic island life at a relaxed pace. It offers peaceful October escapes, the authentic experience of the olive harvest in November, the magic of Christmas and New Year traditions on the island, and the beauty of spring, when nature awakens.

From November through the end of April, the swimming pool is not available for use. All other amenities remain fully available. To enjoy cozy evenings by the wood-burning stove, firewood is available for a small additional fee.

 

Despite its romantic and secluded setting, you won't feel completely isolated. The owner lives nearby and can be reached by phone to help with any questions or concerns you might have.
